Biography
Formerly Anika rem Corvinus, she served as a Primus Pilus of the Garlean VIIth Legion. Following the Legion’s near destruction at Carteneau and subsequent series of reassignments in the East, she came to serve under Legatus Valens van Varro during the subjugation of Werlyt and the Weapons project.She and other survivors of the Diamond Weapon's onslaught banded together during the Final Days and, in the wake of the Empire's fall, formed The Broken Chain, a Free Company of soldiers fighting to be free of exploitation by corrupt governments and morally bankrupt commanders while ensuring that the soldier class will never face extinction.
Affiliations and Hooks
[Schola Bellica] Anika graduated from one of Garlemald's military boarding schools, having largely been raised by the state. Other graduates of these boarding schools might well have met Anika in passing, or have competed with or against her in the competitive war games they treat like sports.[The Garlean Empire] Anika achieved the rank of Primus Pilus, having served in the VIIth Legion under both Nael van Darnus and Valens van Varro, and surviving the calamitous Battle of Carteneau, the Battle of Ghimlyt Dark, and the Diamond Weapon's rampage following the end of the Weapons project at the hands of the Warrior of Light and former Legatus Gaius Baelsar. As a ranking officer of the VIIth Legion, veterans of the same Legion would probably at least know her name even if they weren't a part of the same cohort.[The Broken Chain] Anika founded the Private Military Company 'The Broken Chain' from the ashes of the VIIth Legion, starting with about thirty members. Most of its number now are veterans of the Garlean Empire, or others offered a place following their own disillusionment of former causes.
